Cee Cee - Part 3

Cee Cee loves to give me head butts. I have taught her that when I say "Head Butt!" she will lift up her head and I will lower mine and we will gently meet halfway in a gentle head butt. How did I do that? By gently saying "Head Butt! whenever shewas about to head butt me. I would just say it once or twice slowly while she was doing it, and after a while she understood what I meant BEFORE she even did it.

It took me MANY long months before I was able to pick her up without being bitten or scratched -- I could understand her logic -- she had lived out in the wild ... I ALWAYS RESPECT her feelings and her limits, without showing her any anger or fear.   Now she will let me pick her up and cuddle her for a little while.

In the beginining whenever I went into her room she'd fleeee -- and it would take me hours to find her. Now she runs up to greet me. And she runs after me.  And now she relaxes like I never saw her relax before. She loves the Plushie Gold Blankie (as do all my kitties)  -- someone left that blanket in its original gift case, unused (although I DID wash it before I brought it inside my apartment!), on the "Magic Bench" on my floor in my apartment buildling. It's gold on one side and has HORRIBLY UGLY red roses splotched on the other side-- no wonder they gave it away!! Hey the cats don't care!! They LOVE it!!

What's a "Magic Bench"?  If you live in an apartment building, you know what it is <:-). For those of you who don't know, it's usually a place like a bench -- on each floor of the apartment building -- where people will leave things they no longer need, whether they are moving out or moving in, and have decided they have something they no longer need-- it can be anything from a lamp, to sweaters, to a huge beautiful desk that someone decided they didn't want -- the desk was in perfect condition.

Cee Cee also knows the meaning of "No!"-- and if she is on the table and I say "No!" she will act very surprised and will jump off the table. Then I just walk away without saying anything else -- they do not understand it if you correct them AFTER they have done something wrong (and of course NEVER hit them!!!!!). They live in the present moment, and if the present moment happens to be a neutral moment without any mischief or "wrongdoing", they will not have a CLUE as to why you are upset at them.
